A house of red roofs, murals and furry friends

What the photos show, what the hostel says and what guests report. No invented biographies.

Eco Point’s A-frame cabins with red metal roofs and timber fronts, in a tropical garden under tall trees.

01

The A-frames

The first thing you recognise about Eco Point is its triangular cabins: rust-red metal roofs that reach almost to the ground, timber fronts, curtained windows and a leafy garden all around. Inside, you see the whole triangle, and a glass door opens onto the bamboo.

A woman laughs on a wooden sofa with a tabby cat on her and two dogs beside her, under a mural of a yellow-backed oriole labelled with its scientific name.
The sofa’s real owners, under the yellow-backed oriole (Icterus chrysater) painted on the wall.

02

The walls talk

In the lounge, a yellow-backed oriole painted with its name in Spanish, English and Latin — Icterus chrysater — like a field-guide plate. On another wall, a red bird among leaves and fruit. This site borrowed that idea: that’s why every section is a “plate”.

Two people rest arm in arm on a sofa in the covered lounge; a table-tennis table in the foreground and a foosball table on the right.
The common lounge: sofa, table tennis and foosball.

03

The furry residents

Cats and dogs live at the house, and it shows: in the photos they’re spread across the wooden sofa as if they paid for the stay. Allergic? Bear it in mind. Animal lover? You know where to sit.

Four smiling people pose arm in arm, two giving a thumbs-up, in front of a mural of a red bird among leaves and fruit.

04

Good people

“Un lugar para pasar SABOROSO” — a place to have a delicious time — is how the hostel introduces itself, and the photos show why: laughter by the mural, thumbs up, groups who arrive as strangers. Don Gerardo appears in the hostel’s stories as the cacao-mask man.

What Eco Point isn’t

It isn’t a luxury resort, it has no permanent spa or restaurant menu we can show you, and we won’t promise hot water or air conditioning without confirmation. It’s a characterful mountain hostel about 400 m from Minca’s centre, where the good stuff is the river, the people and unhurried time.
